Discovery Foods Biscotti are made in Tampa, Florida with the expertise of Chef Franco Barlettai, a native Tuscan living in the US.

Biscotti originated in Tuscany in a town called Prato, near Florence. In the 16th century, and perhaps even before, they were not called “Biscotti”, which translates as “twice cooked”, but were called “Pratigianni” meaning from the people of the town called Prato.

Chef Franco learned the traditional way to make Biscotti in his native Tuscany, and worked as a master baker in international hotels and restaurants in London, New York and at the Four Seasons in Tokyo, Japan before coming to Tampa to start his own company.

Because our Biscotti are “twice cooked”, they have the perfect texture for dunking in coffee, cappuccino and after dinner dessert wines such as Vin Santo, Madeira, Sherry or Port.

Our three different flavors of biscotti are made with unique spices and natural flavors, such as wild anise seeds, coriander seeds, Dutch processed cocoa powder and fresh Florida Key Lime.

Discovery Foods Biscotti are baked fresh daily, and sealed in heavy resealable zip lock bags. They can be kept refrigerated or frozen for up to four months.
