“Discovery Foods, Inc” was incorporated in 1993 by Chef Franco Barlettai and his partner, Francesca Caramello. Our experienced staff has been with us since the very beginning and has received HACCP training.

In November of 2010 we combined all that is Discovery Foods, Inc (our unique recipes, technology and equipment, and experience) into a new company with two new partners. The new company is Discovery Foods of America, LLC. There are four managing members of this company: Franco Barlettai, Francesca Caramello, John L. Zambito , and John Zambito Jr.

Our company is fully licensed by the State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, registered with the FDA, and we are in compliance with all the required norms and laws in force for the Food Service and Food Manufacturing Industry. We are an equal opportunity employer and hire only officially documented workers.

We have recently moved into a new state-of-the-art facility which is a leased 6,000 square foot bakery plant that has been in preparation since January 2011.

About Discovery Foods Products:

Discovery Foods guarantees that OUR PRODUCTS ARE ALL MADE FROM NATURAL AND/OR ORGANIC INGREDIENTS. OUR PRODUCTS ARE MADE IN THE U.S.A. (Tampa, Florida) and all our ingredients are from known American top brand name food industries.

There are: NO Trans Fat; NO colors (artificial or otherwise); NO milk products; NO artificial sugars; NO raw eggs (we use whole powdered eggs in biscotti); LOW in salt (Kosher salt); No preservatives or additives; HIGH in natural fiber.

The difference between the original Italian imported “Grissini” Breadsticks and Discovery Foods Grissini is the nutritional value. Chef Franco’s choice of ingredients has been refined to provide an unusually wholesome snack or bread substitute, while at the same time retaining the delicate crisp texture and flavor of the original.

A special blend of natural oils was chosen to achieve an ideal balance of unsaturated fats and Omega 6 and 9 fatty acids, with a very low level of saturated fats. The fiber content has been increased with freshly ground flax meal (providing a source of omega 3); oatmeal fiber and cornstarch in specific balanced proportions in order to improve the fiber content without compromising the texture and delicate flavor.

Discovery Foods breadsticks are freshly baked, on order, daily at our newly completed Bakery Plant. Our wholesale products, crispy breadsticks called GRISSINI and our dunking cookies called BISCOTTI, (which means twice baked in Italian) are produced in large quantities by machines especially designed for our product. Never having lost their unique “home baked” flavor and shape, our industrial process has even improved these upscale Grissini and Biscotti .

Also in our program for this year are exciting new methods of packaging for our “GRISSINI”/Breadsticks; our trademark snack, “SNACKARINI”/Short Breadsticks; and our “BISCOTTI”. This new packaging will open up a variety of new markets for our products and for distributors nationwide.
